Yeah their service has really gone downhill over the last several months; this weekend was the peak of all things going offline. My site went all offline for over 48 hours. That’s right 48 hours. That is absolutely unacceptable for any webhost, and when I call about I get… Um we don’t know when it is going to be fixed. Not to mention in the past several months MySQL has routinely gone down. So instead of migrating the affected accounts over to another box, or heaven forbid had some redundancy so this doesn’t happen, I not only have to endure phone call after phone call from angry users of my forum, I loose 3 days of email!!!Needless to say, after being a loyal Hostmonster customer for the last 3 + years. I will be leaving for a much more reliable Host.

Stay away.
I must say that customer support through chat is not capable of providing real solutions and all the mails and service tickets are dealt very slowly with. In all I am trying to say that they are completely ignorant when it comes down to solving your problems. For instance, when I was facing problems with my email service (a regular thing with HostMonster) I contacted them and they just said “delete all accounts (500+) and create them again” on replying that this is not practical their response was “then open a ticket”. In all I strongly sugest-STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Well, HostMonster does it for me. I have been taking services form this host for about a week and my first feedback is quite good. I have had no problems whatsoever and the help desk is functional actually. In the beginning itself, the company called me promptly for verification and made sure I am facing no issues. Customer support is friendly and explanatory. Also, my website loads faster now as compared to previous hostng. And the advanced version of cPanel is nice to work with.

I started to use their service, mainly trusting the positive reviews. But, I regret it now. The server is down maybe 10 times a day, though for a few minutes. Went to their site to see the connection status at http://serverstatus.hostmonster.com/ just to see it saying my site “has no issue” and “status ok” when it is NOT. The customer care support is non existent and hoping for them to reply to your emails is impossible. If and when they do reply they never answer your problems just babble on about something else. Although they are cheap and promise to be helping they are not. Do not go for long term plans , check the shortcomings for yourself on the short term account.

Have had this host for about a week and my first impressions are good. I have not had any problems. Help desk is actually helpful. They called promptly to verify my account. I was not there so I called back. I waited approximately 10 seconds before I got to an operator and it was done in under a minute. Customer support was friendly from what I’ve seen. Also, my website loads faster than with many hosts I had the occasion of working on when working on web dev. contracts. cPanel is nice and I see no major feature missing. Good impressions.

Slow, slow, slow.
Their hosting is very, very SLOW! No doubt they have increased their price by two folds but as a customer, I would agree for automatic prolongation of the agreement at the same price and not for the updated one. Recently they sent me the messages about expiration of my account and automatic extension of service. Although I replied about quitting the service, but in spite of that my Visa card was charged. This is not acceptable and I strongly recommend all the businesses and individuals to go for some other “fast” and “honest” host.

I have been thinking of quitting Hostmonster hosting for a month now because their hosting is SLOW!!! They have upped the price twice - I would agree for automatic prolongation of the agreement - the same price for the same bad service, but not for automatic rising of the price. I don’t think that it is legal. When they sent me the messages about expiration and automatic extension of service I replied about quitting the service, but in spite of that my Visa card was charged - it’s not acceptable. Off recently HostMonster has just made a major change to their web hosting plans. Now, they are offering Unlimited Bandwidth, Unlimited Diskspace and Unlimited Domains for the same price of $6.95/month. Making these major modifications in almost all of their packages, HostMonster has become the first ones to offer unlimited features at sucn low prices. This step might change the entire scene of web hosting world as now owing to fierce competition other companied might reduce their prices as well. Therefore to me it seems that HostMonster is leading the way. However, very limited number of users knows about these up gradation and they continue to stick to old bandwidth and space limits. Therefore, I hereby inform them that they ned not worry about bandwidth and storage anymore.
As per for review I am running two of my sites on hosting form WebMonster and have faced no problems till date. Strongly recommended to all.

Well I am not hosting with Hostmonster but still though you should know my experience with them. I applied for hosting and paid through credit card. They acknowledged the payment and promised to upload my website within 6 hours. 144 hours and 12 reminders through email and my website was still not on the web. So I asked them for a refund. Well it turned out to be a nightmare and they returned my money after a month. The amount was small no doubt about it but look at their insincerity. I am glad that I escaped through their horrible clutches and am hosting with another webhost as of now. Anybody with respect for his/her money would never ever go for Hostmonster.

I have been hosting with Hostmonster for over 2 years now and lately things have taken a turn for worse. My uptime with Hostmonster has been dreadful for the past year. It got so bad I put a monitoring script on a third party site to ping every ten minutes, and I record an average of 1-2 hours down per month and in the month of August 2008 I have lost four hours so far. Despite repeated support calls and tickets the problem has not been fixed. I am thinking of taking some other hosting service and would advice you to do the same.
